I am interested in multiscale modeling of the heart. Specifically, my work focuses on the integration of cellular mechanisms related to cardiomyocyte function into organ level models that can predict global pump function. I am also interested in the growth and remodeling that occurs in the presence of genetic mutations, which cause HCM, and the effects of myocardial infarction. Our approach integrates experimental measurements that scale from cross-bridge kinetics (via stopped-flow) to ventricular contraction (via MRI).
