PART II: Outbreak response to Ebola in Liberia

West Africa experienced an unprecedented and devastating Ebola outbreak in 2014/15. During the peak of the outbreak, Liberia was the most affected country with more than 100 cases per week. Dr. Mosoka Fallah, who was the leading Liberian epidemiologist during the Ebola outbreak, will present on the community-based initiative he developed and oversaw.  He will describe the strategies used for involving community members and peer-nominated supervisors to both increase general awareness about Ebola and provide for rapid identification of new cases, for which he was honored as TIME Magazine Person of 2014.  His grassroots-based framework will further be discussed in terms of post-Ebola Liberia's surveillance of infectious diseases.
