Topic: What do we need to do to establish credible models?

Return to 2012 Open Space/Unconference discussions

Discussion

We contribute to ModelDB (computational neuroscience) which has as measure of credibility peer-review publication -- the model that is posted must replicate a figure that was in the paper -- still weak credibility as is all peer-reviewed work. The model however then is available for further future peer review.

Standard test problems that can be run in multiple simulators -- show that you can replicate the basics before going to more complicated things.

Can develop challenge problems: eg a blood flow problem provided by FDA that was presented at a conference -- predict the answer -- sadly, no one got it right.
