Session Description:

Poster Session 1 will highlight the research activities of Early Career Investigators (ECIs*), who are in the process of establishing, or planning to establish, independent careers with Multiscale Modeling (MSM) as a major aspect of their burgeoning research programs. These investigators will be critical for sustaining the momentum of the MSM community in the future.

The session will serve as a showcase for ECIs to present:
• New or improved MSM methodologies;
• New applications of MSM;
• New perspectives on the MSM field.

The session will also facilitate mentoring and networking interactions between ECIs and established investigators of the MSM community, allowing ECIs to gain knowledge and perspectives about the landscape of funding opportunities and about community standards related to reproducible/credible modeling. Our hope is that these interactions will energize both groups of MSM investigators.

* Note that this classifier is not defined according to one's funding history; it is not equivalent to the NIH definition of Early Stage Investigator (ESI).

·         Mentors: Please meet your assigned Early Career Investigator at their poster during the ECI Forum on Day 1 Poster Session  from 3:45 pm – 5 pm.

·         Virtual Networking: Take advantage of the IMAG wiki site to interact with your Mentor/ECI Matches. The lists and contact information is posted here: ECI Networking | Interagency Modeling and Analysis Group Wiki (Please note, you must be logged into the IMAG wiki to access this page)

·         ECIs:

·         Fill out your profiles on the ECI Networking page (click on your Last Name) and information about your labs, your publications, multiscale models!

·          Come to the All MSM Day 2 Poster session from 2:15 -3:15pm and meet the IMAG funding agency program officers at the IMAG Table – show them your goals, objectives and specific aims pages for your future grant applications!

·         In-Person Networking: Take advantage of the in-person lunch and coffee breaks to set up meetings with your mentor/ECI to meet in person.  Maybe you can go out to dinner too!
