OTA-20-004: Targeted Needs to Achieve SPARC Program Goals

A new Funding Opportunity, OTA-20-004, has been posted to the SPARC program website:  https://commonfund.nih.gov/sites/default/files/SPARC_Targeted_Needs_FOA_19apr2020_508.pdf

The SPARC program is supported by the NIH Common Fund to accelerate development of therapeutic devices and identification of neural targets for bioelectronic medicine—modulating electrical activity in nerves to help treat diseases and conditions, such as hypertension and gastrointestinal disorders, by precisely adjusting organ function.

SPARC is now accepting concept letters in response to this Funding Opportunity (OTA-20-004) that address the Current Priorities of the program, which include building simulations that leverage existing data to make an impact on neuromodulation therapy development within the next 1-4 years. Please note that the Current Priorities may change, check back at the beginning of each month for updates or sign up for the SPARC listserv to be notified when new priorities are posted.

To apply, email a concept letter describing your proposed project to NIH_CF-SPARC@mail.nih.gov by June 1, 2020 in order to be considered for FY2020 funding. Concept letters submitted after this date may be considered for future funding (e.g., FY2021), if funds are available. Following programmatic review, an invitation and instructions to submit a full application may be issued.

You are encouraged to discuss potential proposals with the SPARC team via SPARC_Biology@mail.nih.gov
