Next Generation Networks for Neuroscience (NeuroNex) Technology-enabled, Team-based Neuroscience
The Fourmentin-Guilbert Foundation, a French non-profit organization, is launching the I2CELL Seed Award to support an experimental research project exploring the algorithmic processing of information in biological systems.
The I2CELL Seed Award:
- provides a fixed funding grant of 250,000 euros.
- is intended for Principal Investigators.
- encourages a collaboration with computer scientists.
Deadline for entries: April 19th, 2019
Funding opportunities are available in fiscal years FY 2019 and FY 2020 to provide support for proposals from interdisciplinary teams comprised of mathematical, computational, and biological scientists to develop MODels for Uncovering Rules and Unexpected Phenomena in Biological Systems (MODULUS) https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2019/nsf19054/nsf19054.jsp.
NSF is piloting a Convergence Accelerator (C-Accel) to accelerate use-inspired convergence research in areas of national importance by facilitating convergent team-building capacity around exploratory, potentially high-risk proposals. The initiative reflects NSF’s commitment to be at the cutting edge, supporting fundamental research while encouraging rapid advances through partnerships between academic and non-academic stakeholders. NSF's NeuroNex Program is pleased to announce the release of a new solicitation, NSF 19-563. A link to the program page can be found here. Under this program, four foreign funding partners are joining the NSF to support international teams of disciplinarily diverse experimentalists, theorists, and research resource developers (including technology and cyberinfrastructure) working on a common foundational question in neuroscience.
