Abstract:

Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) uses simulations with mechanistic mathematical models to improve drug development. Dr. Sobie will discuss recent and ongoing studies to exploit the power of QSP to improve understanding and prediction of cardiotoxicity. Specifically, Dr. Sobie will describe how simulations with mechanistic QSP models can be combined with machine learning algorithms to address unresolved questions.

This integration of statistical and dynamical modeling provides a powerful approach for prioritizing experimental studies, overcoming limitations of experimental models, and identifying patient subgroups most at risk of developing cardiotoxicity.
