MSM algorithms for medical simulator design

Speaker: Suvranu De

Abstract:

Development of interactive medical simulators requires effecient  algorithms without sacrificing computational accuracy. This talk will address new algorithms that address these issues using both intelligent and multiresolution strategies.

Scales: Organ level

Fields: Surgery, Computational Mechanics

About the Speaker:

Suvranu De is J Erik Jonsson '22 Distinguished Professor of Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institite. He serves as Head of the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Nuclear Engineering and Director of the Center for Modeling, Simulation and Imaging in Medicine. His research team works on developing real time  algorithms for surgical simulators, developing integral as well as partial differential equation solvers using both finite element and meshfree discretization approaches. Recent book: Multiscale Modeling in Biomechanics and Mechanobiology
